Our 'Go Fund Me' campaigns to date

Sept 2017 'Let's Build a Shelter' - in response to the tragic Sierra Leone mudslide disaster that claimed many lives and left many children orphaned and destitute.  We raised £400 which was used to buy water, food, medical supplies, clothes and tarpaulin for shelter.

April 2017  'Desks for the Children' - we bought  a generator! Also bought wood for the local carpenter to make desks, we bought books, pencils, paper, food and children's clothes - they grow so quickly. We ran educational workshops for 25 staff and community members on: Safeguarding / Child Protection. For the children, we were able to get the same message across using Al Smiths child friendly book 'Koala & Bunny': Teaching Children Protective Behaviours. Highly recommended teaching resource that works for all at TCRF.

Also in April were also able to run a Women's Empowerment workshop  - to which 85 community members turned up!  It was good to see such a good turn out of men joining the workshop. If we want to change to happen for women, we need to involve the men of the community.

Dec 2015 'We Just Want to Learn to Read' - we bought school books, paper, pens, children's clothes, material for uniforms, food.  We also had money donated especially for a day trip to the beach and a Christmas party for the children - most of whom had never seen a beach.  What an an amazing time made possible as a result of your kind donations.  Thank you so much.

Would you consider donating to support our work?

As yet, we receive no funding. We are working towards sustainability, in partnership with NuHi Training, a small UK based social enterprise founded in 2010 by Yaina Samuels, she was also involved in helping us to set up TCRF back in 2015. Both NuHi and TCRF are run by a small teams of committed volunteers.

All donations are received through NuHi via pay-pal on behalf of TCRF. The full donated amount , minus processing fees, is then transferred to Freetown using Kanson money transfer service based in London UK. The money is then picked up by a designated TCRF staff member who has to produce ID and sign before collection.

We hope the above provides reassurance that all your donation will be used for the purpose that it was intended - to support the children at TCRF. We continue to be completely transparent in all that we do, even down to providing evidence of how the money is used.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our work in the past and those that continue to do so. Also to anyone reading this who may be considering supporting us in the future......please do.
