Who are we?

The Children's Recovery Foundation (TCRF) is a community based charitable organisation based in Calaba Town, Sierra Leone and registered with the Freetown City Council. We are partnered and supported by NuHi Ltd. a social enterprise organisation based in Wales, UK. TCRF was set up as an orphanage in 2014 in response to the Ebola crisis which sadly left so many children traumatised, destitute and living on the streets.

We started with 20 children and we now have nearly 200 children, many of whom are with foster families living in the community. Alongside the orphanage, we have set up the Seren Preparatory school to ensure that every child in our care receives an education.

TCRF does not receive any government funding and the staff and teachers do not receive a regular wage and when they do, it is minimal. Please consider supporting TCRF either as a one off or with regular monthly donations. All donations are received via NuHi, through the Cooperative bank in the UK, transferred to TCRF and evidence provided on social media of how the money is spent to benefit the children. We work hard to ensure transparency in all that we do and our work would not be possible without the kindness and generosity of our supporters worldwide. Thank you.
